Lack of fundamentals is killing basketball.

The introduction of the 3-point shot in basketball has forever changed the face of basketball and not necessarily for the best.

Sure a trey is exciting and seems more contagious as players and fans get caught up in the bombs from behind the arc.

But lost amongst all of the young kids just looking to launch a shot from treyville is the art of hitting a 10 to 12 foot jump shot. Feeding the man down in the post so he or she can get three the old fashioned way.

Free throw shooting, ball handling and passing have also slipped some and less and less players want to win the game from the charity stripe or on an assist in the lane.

Give me a fundamentally sound team that can handle the ball, make passes to the man in the post, hit a good 10 to 12 foot jumper consistently and knock down free throws and I'll show you a state champion hands down.

St. X Best Cincinnati Prep Football Team Ever?

I'm kind of surprised by the results of the latest Hacks poll that asked the question: Is St. Xavier the best Cincinnati football team ever? By a margin of 66.7 % to 33.3 % respondants said no. Which makes me wonder then - Who is the best team ever? I know some say the 2004 Colerain team. Others says some of the Moeller teams from the 70s. Let's hear your thoughts...
