Jim Uebel and Troy Cooper deliver a one-two punch.

Jim Uebel and Troy Cooper combined for 47 points last night in Brossart's win over Cov Cath.

Uebel's ability to hit shots from the outside as well as slash to the basket along with Cooper being to strong in the middle was the one-two combination that was needed to win.

Like a boxer, Uebel jabbed the head while Cooper worked the body until their opponents hands dropped and then Uebel delivered the knock out blow.

Great game to watch.

Basketball Polls

Polls are fun to post and for fans fun to follow...They are definitely not an exact science but here's a few thoughts on the currrent Hacks Fab 5 poll:

Moeller or Elder are the consensus No. 1 teams in Cincinnati DI. They could very easily be co-No. 1's. Both have beaten each other once and both have two losses. Both are unbeaten outside of the GCL. At this point, though, if Elder can go on the road tonight and beat a 17-1 Alter team, I will move them into the top spot. With a loss, Moeller will end No. 1.

NKY boys is still wide open. If top-ranked CovCath can win this week against No. 2 Bishop Brossart and No. 3 Simon Kenton, it's a no-brainer, the Colonels are No. 1. Brossart or Simon Kenton wins would muddy the waters...

Oak Hills finished No. 1 in Cincinnati DI but I'm not so sure how much better they are than Lakota West or Mount Notre Dame. There is much more parity this season as a few teams have close the gap a bit on Mt. Notre Dame.

Notre Dame and Boone County are easily the cream of the crop among NKY girls. Both have beaten each other this year and I would be shocked if one of these two teams are not representing the Ninth Region at state next month...

High School Basketball

If you are reading this blog and follow high school basketball, I would be interested in you responding to this and letting me know what teams you see in semi-finals. It can be any division, boys or girls.

Would just like to get some chatter going on this topic since it is a great time of year.
