Just got this release from MSJ:

The College of Mount St. Joseph officially announces the following high school seniors have committed to attend the Mount in the fall and play baseball next spring for the Lions. They are: Jake Daughterty (Colerain High School), transfer from Miami-Hamilton University; Robert Layne (Ryle High School); Troy Lippert (Colerain High School); Ben McQueen (Conner High School); Trace Norton (Reading High School); Ben Hunterman (Oak Hills High School); Tony Mathews (Anderson High School); Ryan Rodriguez (Moeller High School); Robert Urmston (Hamilton Badin High School); Brandon Buchanan (Reading High School); Chris Hall (Mason High School); George Raggets (Turpin High School).

Norton, Hunterman, Hall and Urmston were first team all-city selection last season, while Rodriguez and Buchanan were named honorable mention all-city.

We're back.....

It's only the second day of July, but I know the high school sports season isn't far away. If you are counting at home, Kentucky high school golf begins July 30.

This time of the summer is a good time to follow recruiting. Just last week two Turpin football players - WR Andy Cruse and LB Luke Kelly - made oral commitments to Miami. Also, Wyoming offensive lineman Larry Black committed to Indiana.

There are no doubt still others that will decide. We'll keep you informed as we progress toward August.
