Is 16-0 in soccer bad for the sport?

It seems like every year there is a team somewhere across America that crushes their opponent in a high school sport.

The typical argument breaks out as to whether or not it is bad for the sport and wrong to do that to a group of kids or if a coach shouldn't be expected to "call off the dogs".

In the game of soccer, beating another team 16-0 can be seen as inexcusable. It would be like beating someone by 100 points in football or basketball, yet in soccer it can be even worse.

Milford's win over Amelia on Tuesday night may have proved more about lack of sportsmanship by Milford than how good they are.

That kind of score isn't good for the players, fans, parents, schools or the sport in general. There should never be a 16-0 score in soccer.
