Lakota West Coach Mike Mueller

I covered the Hamilton vs. Lakota West sectional game at Fifth Third Arena on Saturday night.

I had the pleasure of sitting near Lakota West's bench and listening to Mr. Mueller coach his Firebirds.

I had never met Coach Mueller before then but I have to say that his coaching style is what a coach is supposed to be. Constantly praising his players, looking for the good in what they were doing and trying to get them to believe in themselves.

Even when it became apparent that West was out of the game he still tried to rally his troups without making excuses or pointing blame.

From what I saw, he is great for high school basketball.
